U.S. Tariffs, Import Fees & Return Policy
At Arkodd, we are committed to being transparent with our customers about international shipping costs and import regulations.
Recent changes to U.S. trade policy have significantly impacted shipments entering the United States from Canada. With the removal of the de minimis exemption for Canadian goods and the implementation of new tariffs, many shipments are now subject to import duties, brokerage fees, and customs processing charges.
What This Means for Your Order
Arkodd is a small Canadian business that designs and manufactures premium gaming controllers and accessories.
Since the implementation of these tariffs and the removal of the de minimis exemption, we have done our best to absorb the additional import and brokerage costs whenever possible. Unfortunately, the latest increase in U.S. tariffs has made this financially unsustainable.
As a result, orders shipped to the United States may now be subject to:
- U.S. import duties or tariffs
- Customs brokerage or clearance fees
- Any applicable taxes required by U.S. Customs
These charges are not collected by Arkodd and are not included in the product price or shipping cost displayed at checkout. They are determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and collected by the shipping carrier before or upon delivery.
Why We Can No Longer Cover These Fees
We understand that unexpected import charges are frustrating. Since these trade policy changes first took effect, we have absorbed these costs whenever possible to reduce the impact on our U.S. customers.
However, with the latest tariff increase, these fees have become too significant for a small independent business like ours to continue covering without substantially increasing the price of every product.
Rather than raising prices for customers worldwide, we believe it is more transparent to keep our product prices unchanged and ask U.S. customers to cover any import duties, tariffs, brokerage fees, or taxes that may be assessed on their order.
Refused Shipments & Returns
If a shipment is refused because the recipient chooses not to pay the required import duties, tariffs, brokerage fees, taxes, or other customs charges, the package will be returned to Arkodd.
In these cases:
- The original shipping cost is non-refundable.
- The return shipping charges billed to Arkodd are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund.
- A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund to cover inspection, testing, handling, repackaging, payment processing, and administrative costs associated with the returned shipment.
- Any customs charges, brokerage fees, or other costs incurred as a result of the refused shipment may also be deducted from the refund where applicable.
By placing an order, you acknowledge that any import duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage fees, or customs-related charges imposed by U.S. authorities are the responsibility of the recipient.
We strongly encourage U.S. customers to familiarize themselves with their country’s import regulations before placing an order to avoid unexpected charges.
Thank You
We truly appreciate the continued support of our U.S. customers. Every purchase directly supports a small Canadian business dedicated to designing high-quality controllers and accessories for the fighting game community.
We will continue to monitor changes to U.S. import regulations and shipping policies and will update this page if the situation changes.
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting Arkodd.
